"Highwayman" - Heavy Steerhide

The original and legendary Aero Leather Co's "Highwayman", often copied but never equalled. Designed and inspired by 1950's styling this is our very best seller. We loosely based this design on the British 50's Bike jackets worn in the UK during the 1970's. The Punks often wore jackets by long defunct British manufacturers, "Highwayman". Our decision to make an amalgamated jacket using the best of British and American design proved an instant success. Popular since first shown the early 1980's and has now become our own classic. The styling offers a jacket plain, functional, practical and without any logo's. The very first batch were made using Connelly Steer hides which proved very successful until, we discovered that American front quarter horsehide was still available. The Highwayman took flight, sales worldwide hit record amounts enabling Aero to become winners of the Queen's Award for Export, without even trying too hard. We put this down to the fact that we have always tried to source the correct materials wherever possible. The Highwayman comes with an Alpaca wool lining, with the sleeves lined in cotton drill and fitted with storm cuffs for added wind resistance. The two deep hand-warmer pockets are lined in heavy cotton for durability and a zip breast pocket completes the classic look. The back features a shallow "V" shaped yolk, while a snug fit at the waist is ensured by the strap and buckle side adjusters. The sleeves are finished off with a traditional American style cuff.
