VM#587.... Rough M442A 38"

Pretty rough M422a. This jacket has been messed about with but, if someone was willing to spend a bit of money on restoration it could be turned into a decent little jacket. The original mouton collar has been lost along the way and replaced with a rather nasty artificial one. The new collar has been very badly fitted so that is does not sit properly at the back. The waistband is a replacement . It is a proper double weave waistband but the person who replaced did not use the original stitch holes. So there are 2 lines of stich holes. Like wise the cuffs are also a replacement,again the original stitch holes have not been used. The replacement cuffs are not really worth saving. It has a nice 40's bell shaped talon zipper but one of the sides needs replaced. The lining has been replaced at some point and it does not need replacing again. The label is missing but we could fit a good repro zipper. Sold as seen for £100. A full restoration job would cost another £200
