The Black Welsh "Best of British Breeds" Sweater

The Black Welsh Sweater. Aero’s “Best of British Breeds”

100% Natural Undyed Organic Wool

Triple Ply

Sheared and Spun in The UK

Knitted  in Scotland

Exclusive to Aero

THE WOOL :

This unique sweater has been knitted here in the heart of Scotland using undyed, natural raw organic wool, ethically sourced, sheared and spun in the UK from a selection of unique native breeds.

The fibre has been processed using traditional time-honoured techniques with an emphasis on sustainability and a low environmental impact.

The absence of any dyeing process allows the natural colours, nuances and shades of each “Best of British” breeds to be reflected in the finished garment

THE BLACK WELSH

The Black Welsh Mountain Sheep graze freely on the hills of Wales. They are a young breed and fairly rare, the worldwide population is only 10000 and The Breeders' Society for Black Welsh Mountain Sheep is barely 100 years old
They are small and hardy, their wool is sufficiently fine, soft and densely stapled to be regarded as a speciality type, highly regarded in USA, Canada and Japan. Their wool now commands its own grade by the Wool Marketing Board.
