The traditional eight panel cap, Newsboy Cap or Baker’s Boy cap is one of the most iconic items of clothing from the early to mid 20th Century, ideal to wear with a leather jacket or a tweed suit and equally suitable for everyone from an artisan to a Lord, worn by The Great Gatsby, The Peaky Blinders and the Jarrow marchers alike. These eight panel tweed caps, while similar in style to the ubiquitous flat cap, are cut with a much fuller and more rounded shape and have a stiff curved peak with a stitch under the overhang to pull the body of the cap tight to the brim. Our cap is fitted with a quilted lining to keep the wearer’s head warm, dry and protected from the elements and is crafted in a choice of four shades of Harris Tweed as we continue to support Scotland’s most famous home weavers.
