Rivetts Virginian Replica (Fringed ‘59er Highwayman)
Typical Thick but Soft Grainy Steerhide
Perfect Replica of Rivett’s rarest Highwayman design.
Waldes Replica Zipper
Replica of the Original Highwayman label
Red Cotton Lining
Originals of these still turn up from time to time on ebay but rarely with the fringes still in place. Most were cut off, usually crudely. Rivett’s also did a version with fringes down the sleeves (advert pictured dated 1966 well past the heyday of the style which would have been late 1950s). We’ve never seen one that still has it’s sleeve fringe intact. Bikers cut them off, apparently the fringes got stuck in the cuff zippers, so we've decided to make our version without these.
The fit and pattern is the same as the ‘59’er other than straight yoke in the back and the addition of fringing. A unique product that helps fill in the gaps on the close to 70 years of Highwayman history.
