The C-2 Sweater was the first attempt of the USAAF at the beginning of the 1940s to introduce an additional layer for the A-2 Fighter Pilot jacket. It was meant as the insulating layer underneath. Therefore the overall construction of the sweater is a tight fit with raglan sleeves.
