This is our variation on the classic late 1920's/early 1930s half belted "Cossack" Horsehide Jacket. The back is identical to our much loved "Half Belt" with a two - section back: large panel with false belt and a lower panel beyond the false belt with brass buckle fastening at the sides.
The front of this jacket has an extra button fastening tab at the neck for extra protection from the elements. The side pocket angle is fractionally different from our Half Belt and this version has no top pocket. The cuff on this "Cossack" has a button closure and is more typical of the 20's and 30's than the Half Belt/Highwayman style cuff more commonly found on 1950's originals.
Lined in hard wearing cotton twill as standard. The sleeves and pockets are both lined in heavy cotton drill to maximize wear and tear. Designed for harsh climates, and winter wear, this jacket is an understated classic.
