This Jacket evolved in the 1950's as USA looked back for inspiration to the exploits of Air Crews in their A2 Jackets. The A2 pocket became replaced with the corded border four pocket design still typically referred to as a "Bomber" Jacket or "Fly Boys" jacket.

Ours uses the same Heavy Horsehide widely used during the period and the same typical blanket or cotton linings that were popular at the time. These are cut from our typical 1950's pattern block, same as we use for all our jackets of that era, the cut "loosely" resembles the style of the Type A2, retaining that typical authentic "fliers" look, yet with a wee bit more room for more comfort and movement than the WW2 Type A-2.

Available with fur collar upon request.

This jacket is a 1950s inspired design which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the body which was typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era.

The perceived ‘correct’ fit of the 1950s was generally more ‘oversized’ than modern sizing, so we typically recommend either selecting your usual size for this style to achieve the intended ‘1950s’ relaxed fit, although many choose to size down for a more modern fitted look.
