Fair Isle Knitwear
Our range of Fair Isle knitwear uses perfect replica colours, patterns and fits from the 1940s pieces we have in our archives. The bright colours of these knits were designed to lift the spirits of the public during even the darkest days of WW2 and soon became a symbol of hope in what was a very 'black and white' world. Each piece is carefully replicated from traditional patterns used during wartime.

Fair Isle Knitwear from Aero Leathers
Our Fair Isle knitwear is a winter wardrobe staple knitted exclusively for Aero with each design inspired by traditional patterns, colours and fits from the 1940s. This style of knit was popularised in the 1930s, where knitting became a popular pastime and a very important part of the war efffort. During this time, women spent hours gathered around a peat fire listening to the radio and knitting Fair Isle sweaters for the whole family.
