Fair Isle Sweaters
Knitted right here in Scotland, our Fair Isle jumpers perfectly replicate the colours, patterns and fits of the original 1940s pieces we have in our archives. The bright colours of these knits were designed to lift the spirits of the public during the dark days of World War II, and the sweaters became a symbol of hope in a gloomy world.

Fair Isle Wool Jumpers
Our Fair Isle knitwear is a winter wardrobe staple. These 100% Shetland wool jumpers are knitted in Scotland exclusively for Aero, and their designs are inspired by traditional patterns, colours and fits.
This style of knit was popularised in the 1930s and 1940s, when knitting became a popular pastime and a very important part of the war efffort. During this time, women would spend hours gathered around a peat fire, listening to the radio and knitting Fair Isle sweaters for the whole family.
