The first of our new Premier Range of Superior Limited Edition leather jackets, this upgraded version of our current 1930's Half Belt is based on an original late 1920s pattern and fitted with the best hardwear money can buy.
As standard the pocket zipper is a high grade Japanese repro of the old looped ball zipper so typical of the 1930s. For the main zippers we offer the choice of Japanese replica Hookless grommet zippers in Alloy or Brass or one from our stock of deadstock original Conmar and Talon zippers dating from at least 50 years ago. Pockets are lined in heavy duty Moleskin for strength and warmth.
For the last couple of years we've been experimenting with a whole new cut, something different yet faithful to the period that we've always worked within. Earlier this year we hit pay dirt in the form of an old 1920s Mackinaw belonging to our founder that had finally given up the ghost. The cut of this old wool coat was amazing and once the remains were carefully dismantled and transferred onto card it became obvious that it could be easily converted to accept a zipper. From day one the cut wowed everyone, within the factory the term "Premium" was used to describe the cut but word of this new pattern soon got out on the internet and the name stuck! The shape, while classic late 1920s with a slight drop front, has actually improved from the addition of a zipper, the collar is quite different from our old collar, it sits more upright to the neck curve, the points are slimmer and the whole neck area has a streamlined look to it. Although the armholes are cut much higher than any previous Aero jacket , the sleeves are very comfortable this combination gives a very flattering line without any batswing effect, the bane of so many leather jackets.
Standard size range is 34" to 48" inclusive, other sizes are available by special order
