While it's still possible to find vintage shirts from the 1930s and 40s, few are in pristine, wearable condition. So we have curated a collection of high-quality men's shirts recreating classic, vintage styles for our customers. These timeless designs have been crafted using original CC41 Utility Grade garments and bear our Aero/CC41 recreation label.
Why choose vintage men's shirts from Aero Clothing?
The Utility symbol, CC41, is one of the most iconic symbols in the history of clothing in Britain. Clothes rationing began in June 1941 in an effort to cut down the nation's consumption of scarce resources and the CC41 Utility scheme was started 3 months later as a method of providing cheap, but well-made clothes for the less-well-off. From somewhat hit-and-miss early garments, the Utility symbol grew to be a mark of quality and value.
We've taken some of the most recognisable and stylish original CC41 shirt designs and recreated them in 100% heavy-duty cotton, finishing them off with our recreation CC41 label to honour these pieces of British fashion history.
