The stylish Montgomery leather jacket is a replica of 1950s jacket, a very popular design in the 1950s with Monarch, Sears and Montgomery Ward offering versions of the jacket. The fit is somewhere between our 1950s Half Belt and a waisted Highwayman, it uses the same basic pattern block and length, the hem is adjustable for a snug fit and can be drawn in neatly by adjustable strap and buckle. There is a high yoke in an otherwise fairly plain back design while the front has a very stylish corded rectangle surrounding the two patch pockets plus a single breast pocket closing by zipper, all in all a most stylish and practical jacket.

Every now and again a design slips off our radar, somehow this original Aero design has been missing from our range for over 20 years despite being one of our best sellers during it's 1986-1993 heyday. A recent trade-in of an original has rekindled our determination to put this handsome jacket back into full production, it could be classed as our very own Brig O’ Doon.

This jacket is a 1950s inspired design which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the body which was typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era.

The perceived ‘correct’ fit of the 1950s was generally more ‘oversized’ than modern sizing, so we typically recommend either selecting your usual size for this style to achieve the intended ‘1950s’ relaxed fit, although many choose to size down for a more modern fitted look.

Additionally, this jacket’s side adjusters are close to the hem and can be cinched in or out to achieve a more relaxed/fitted look around the hips.
