"Blizzard" - Limited Edition

The Limited Edition Aero "BLIZZARD" is, like the name suggests, the perfect coat for the very worst of weather. Practical, and purpose built, the son of our famous "BARNSTORMER" is unlike the majority of foul weather coats in that it's also a very stylish garment.

The sheepskin shawl collar and the Horsehide outer shell of this coat hides a unique and practical lining cut from the highest grade heavy wool checked blanket woven in Italy. In our quest to create the ultimate winter coat, both in terms of practicality and of style, we've grafted a set of matching waistcoat fronts into the side and shoulder seams of the lining, these are not removable but can be worn in three different positions.

For a dressier look and for added protection from a head wind it should be worn as a traditional waistcoat, to all intents and purposes giving the appearance of a coat worn over a waistcoat in matching wool.

For a less formal look the waistcoat panels can be buttoned back neatly against the side seams where they can't be seen, even if the coat is worn open.

The third alternative is to button the waistcoat in the usual way before putting the coat on; the waistcoat then sits between the wearer's back and the outer shell giving greatly improved protection for the worst types of weather coming from behind.

There are four deep pockets lined in Moleskin for warmth, a full length detachable belt to keep any storm at bay and an extra button to draw the shawl collar in tight at the neck.

While the beautiful Italian Blanket lining directly inspired the design, sadly the cloth was found in a deadstock warehouse and is therefore unique and unrepeatable meaning we won't be able to make more than a few dozen coats in this unique combination. Therefor this, the first edition of our new coat, will be offered as a Limited Edition in Black only, Chromexcel Horsehide from USA or Vicenza Vegetable Tanned Horsehide from Italy. We don't feel the colours of this particular blanket will work with brown or cordovan leather.

To retain the integrity of both the design and the collectability that the Limited Edition status , we can offer no modifications to the design other than height related length changes although the coat can be lined in the customer's choice from either of the two shades of the all wool blanket lining while both are still available.

A "Standard" BLIZZARD will be available soon in a wide range of leathers and colours with appropriately matched linings

Standard size range is 34" to 48" inclusive, other sizes are available by special order
