Lee 101z Dry 22oz Jeans

Henry David Lee set up the HD Lee Mercantile Co in Kansas, 1889 specialising in the production of denim dungarees, overalls and railroad jackets. In 1924 Lee released the 101B Cowboy jeans, the first denim trouser specifically designed for cowboys and rodeo riders, followed by the 101Z in 1926, the first ever zip-fly jeans. In 1944 they re-branded the cowboy range as Lee Riders and introduced the famous Lazy-S stitching on the back pockets. Years later and Lee are still top dogs in the denim world.

Lee's classic 101 Z pant features a regular fit with straight legs. This version is a real beast and comes in a 22oz super-heavyweight fabric woven in Japan.

• Style: 101 Z
• Fit: Regular fit - Straight leg - Mid rise
• Color: Indigo
• Material: 100% cotton
• 22oz White Selvage Denim - Woven in Japan
• Heavyweight denim
• Righthand twill
• Sanforized
• Zip-fly
• Leather patch

New to Lee 101, they discovered this premium super-heavyweight 22.25 oz selvage denim at the Kaihara Mills in Fukuyama City, Japan, where it's created with extra thick ring yarns that are rope dyed using eight dips of natural indigo for a deep, rich tone and has a pleasingly pronounced twill line.

Kaihara is known for the extra height the mill allows its machines; after the cotton yarn is dipped into the indigo bath, it's then lifted high up before another dip - this increased time in the air means the yarn can oxidate longer resulting in a deeper, darker tone. With a single white selvage line. Extremely tough and flawlessly made, this denim will truly stand the test of time.
