Our Cafe Racer Jacket is designed is a style that evolved from the Board Racing jackets of the 1920s and early 1930s. The Cafe Racer (or “Kaff” Racer) found popularity on both sides of The Atlantic in the late 1950s and 1960s.

Here at Aero Leathers, we've been making Cafe Racer jackets since the 1980s. Our current Cafe Racer Jackets have benefitted from 30 years of development, without any modification that would take away from the original post war design. The most recent (and probably final) tweak was a redesign to the collar, so it’s set at the ultimate angle to combine comfort and practicality whilst riding, and to give the best wind protection to the back of the neck.

The back has a double kidney panel and the body is cut to fit close on the ribcage, giving the wearer full weather protection without any loss of style.

Aero manufacture two similar versions of the Cafe Racer. Both jackets are closely based on the best Cafe Racer jackets from back in the day. The more authentically styled Two Pocket Cafe Racer has no side pockets, two zip closing breast pockets, bi-swing back, neat stand collar with single stud fastening, centre zipper, zipped cuffs and a double kidney protection panel. The optional 4 Pocket version benefits from the addition of two zip-up side hand warmer pockets, but is otherwise the same jacket described above. Jackets can be ordered with either Brass, Antique Brass, or Nickel/Silver zippers.

This jacket is a 1950s inspired design which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the chest and shoulders (typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era), and along with the jacket’s bi-swing back with extra volume with a strong taper to the waist and hem, is purpose-designed for motorcycling.

For the intended closer fit, we typically recommend you order the size closest to your relaxed chest size. If this is intended for riding, then we recommend you order the size closer to your expanded chest which will allow for additional layering.

Any sizing down would need to be checked over by our team due to the jacket’s heavy taper, and we generally advise checking out the Board Racer if you are looking for a narrower/straighter cut racing jacket.

For further general sizing information, please see our sizing FAQ section. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for there, please get in touch.

Don’t worry, all sizing information displayed here is only a guide. Every order placed is checked over by a member of our production team who will confirm your size selection against your measurements or recommend any necessary changes that need to be made. If you have any specific queries, you can note these in the special instructions box on the ‘measurements’ page when placing your order.
