The Veste des Rallye successfully captures the period feel of 1950s and 60's motoring, first made by Aero in 1994 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the mighty Mini Cooper's first of four consecutive Monte Carlo Rally victories (although the French did manage to find a way to disqualify the winning Mini in 1966).

The Veste des Rallye is timeless, it's simple two pocket design, comfortable relaxed cut and sheer practicality means this jacket will soon become a trusted friend. Although cut to be worn comfortably over a lighter weight jacket or a heavy pullover, it can also be worn over as a jacket (rather than coat) but we advise sizing down if it's going to worn as jacket. Each garment is made entirely by a single highly skilled machinist and finished with keyhole sewn button holes and hand-stitched buttons (these will not fall off in a couple of years!). A really simple easy to wear "over jacket".

We know a thing or two about the rigours of Classic Rallying ...... two Aero staff members, in an Aero Leather sponsored 1962 AC Cobra, won the 1993 Manx Mountain Challenge.

There is no other car coat that can compare with the Veste Des Rallye, warm enough for an Alpine stage, weather proof enough for a Scottish Winter and strong and hardy enough to throw on the ground while working under the car.......wherever the need arises!

This jacket is a 1950s inspired style which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the body which was typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era. Additionally, this jacket is designed to be worn as an overcoat.

The perceived ‘correct’ fit of the 1950s was generally more ‘oversized’ than modern sizing, and this overcoat is especially oversized relative to modern sizing, so we typically recommend sizing down one or two sizes in this style for a more modern fitted look, or you can opt for your usual size to achieve the intended ‘1950s’ very relaxed fit.
